Congratulations to NHD Philly students on their success at PA State History Day!

Eamon
Eamon Ronan from William Penn Charter School was awarded 1st Place in Senior Individual Documentary for his project Segregation at All Costs: Bull Connor and the Civil Rights Movement. Eamon’s teacher is Levan Payton. Eamon will compete in the National History Day contest held at the University of Maryland from June 14-18.

Veri
Veri (Youngmin) Seo from JR Masterman was awarded the PA Heritage Award for best paper on Pennsylvania history for her project Freedom Does Not Come Free: The Escape and Legacy of Oney Judge. The award is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission and the Pennsylvania Heritage Society. Veri and her school received a cash award, a membership to the PHS, and her paper will be posted on the PHMC website.
